Information :

Below is the latest report of Recoyarns Bio-degradable recycled polyester. Test is done by Intertek, a well-known third party testing agency.

The test period is 45 days, and the test adopts the international standard of ISO-15985. This is an anaerobic degradation test that most effectively simulates the common landfill scenario experienced by textiles in everyday life after they are discarded. There are also marine degradation tests as well as aerobic degradation tests (simulating industrial composting scenarios).

It can be seen that Figures A&B are polyester fibers that have not been degraded, while Figures C&D are the state of the fibers after a period of degradation. Compared with the previous ones, there are signs of degradation.

From the above figure you can see that the degradation rate rises very steadily after more than 10 days, which means that if the test continues, the degradation rate will reach a very considerable level. According to the PET fiber test report by Eden, an authoritative laboratory in the United States provided by another supplier, the degradation rate can reach 94.5% after more than 300 days.

The final result shows that after 45 days of degradation test, the degradation rate of the sample reaches 7.53%, and the decomposition products after degradation are carbon dioxide and methane, which will not pollute the environment.

The third column in the table is the reference substance used in the degradation test. The degradation test is valid only when the degradation rate of the reference substance exceeds 70%. It can be seen that the degradation rate of the reference substance is 92.21% after 45 days.
